The journey is the movement of people or objects (such as aircraft, ships, trains and other transport) between relatively distant geographic locations. “Journey” may also include relatively short stays between successive movements.

Reasons for traveling include recreation, tourism or vacations, travel research for gathering information for a holiday to visit people, volunteers travel to charity, the migration to start life in another hand, religious pilgrimages and trips mission trips, business travel, trade, and other reasons, such as obtaining health care or fleeing the war. Travel may occur by human-powered transportation, like walking or biking or vehicles, such as public transport, cars, trains and planes.
Reasons for travel include pleasure, relaxation, discovery and exploration, learning about other cultures and take personal time to build relationships. Travel may be local, regional, national (domestic) or international. In some countries, local non-domestic trips may require an internal passport, while international travel usually requires a passport and visa. A trip can also be part of a round trip, which is a particular type of travel which a person moves from their place of habitual residence of one or more places and back.
